Vonage Speed Test

This is one of the best speed testers I've seen. I've used a lot before but always got varying results. Here's what I got:

Download Speed: 3.97Mbps
Upload Speed: 378Kbps
Upload Burst: 1.1Mbps

Also tried this one:

http://www.bandwidthplace.com/speedtest/

Got this:

Communications: 3.8 megabits per second
Storage: 466.7 kilobytes per second
1MB file download: 2.2 seconds
Subjective Rating: Awesome

I'm also on "10Mb Cable."

4.14 Mbps Download Speed
513 kbps Upload Speed
Round Trip Time 46ms
Max Pause 32ms

Downloading with Flashget or Newsgroups I get ~9.5Mbps.

Bear in mind that 10 Megabit cable connections do not guarantee 10 Megabit connections to other sites. Vonage is likely not hosted by your provider, and is therefore subject to the limitations of the bandwidth between your provider and Vonage.

If, however, you were to connect to that speed test while downloading several torrents and an avi from a website or something, combine the download speeds with those of the test, and you'll have a more accurate reading.

As for my results, I'm on a University network... that test is showing me at 2.0-2.5 Mbps average downstream, but approximately 385 Mbps upstream. Our network has a synchronous quad-OC3 connection. Clearly, a couple hundred people are downloading things right now... I'd be curious to see a result from a .edu based bandwidth test, as we're on gigabit fiber to the I2 network.
