As you may notice I mixed parts from Ebuyer and Overclockers as some things are cheaper on certain sites over others. All that will cost me just under £750 including delivery so that means you have £250 to add on top of that. Hope that gives you some sort of idea as to what you're looking at.

I must say thats very sexy indeed...

Having built an 'average' pc 4 years ago i obviously didnt get all the best stuff :'( Having looked at this and the price i think i would probably go out and get it tbh

I would change the ram for faster ram, no point getting that CPU with slow ram.

And maybe buy the x9 not x8 series graphics card

Soon as i get it built neway guwhaha =) iv always wanted a pc to brag about =)

Re: What's your gaming rig?

Postby raykor on Wed Aug 20, 2008 7:36 pm

Nearly all the parts have arrived for my new build—waiting for the monitor. It’s like Christmas morning with all the boxes and rubbish.

The attachment NewBuild_01.jpg is no longer available

NewBuild_01.jpg

CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E8600 (E0 stepping) 3.33 GHz. I will probably only overclock it slightly to 3.6 - 3.9 GHz.
COOLER: Zalman CNPS9700 LED 110mm CPU Cooler

MOTHERBOARD: Asus P5Q deluxe (Intel P45 based)
RAM: Corsair XMS2 4 GB (2 x 2 GB) DDR2 800 Yes, I know I will only be able to use about 3 GBs with a 32-bit OS.

DRIVES: Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 500GB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3. Two drives running in RAID 1.

CASE: Cooler Master Cosmos S. This thing is ridiculously large and sexy.
POWER SUPPLY: PC Power & Cooling Silencer 750W Quad ATX12V
OPTICAL DRIVE: Asus DVD/CD Burner SATA with LightScribe

VIDEO: BFG GeForce 9800 GTX+ Overclocked 512MB
MONITOR: Dell 2408WPF: S-PVA panel, 24” LCD (revision A01)

KEYBOARD: Logitech G15
MOUSE: Logitech G5 Laser

AUDIO: Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Pro PCIe
SPEAKERS: Logitech Z-5500 5.1 505-Watt. A little over-the-top but oh well.

OPERATING SYSTEM: Windows XP Pro SP3. It’s a new license with SP3 integrated into the initial install. I’ll probably switch over to Vista 64 eventually but not for a while.

UPS: APC BR1500LCD 1500VA 865 Watts

I’ll add some photos of the completed system after I put it together.
