Wow that's sad as hell. How do these people get employed in the first place?

What's truly odd about all of this is that Mythic's DAOC is still getting frequent updates even with only a few thousand still playing.

I miss the pre-EA days of Mythic. The concepts they put into DAOC were gold in their hands, now to be forever lost...

Daoc is getting more than warhammer, the latest producers letter basically said nothing anybody wanted, the closest they got was saying they were *concerned* about the huge crippling power gap when people hit the top tier... 3 months and thats what they put out. Seriously i thought neocron was run badly.. but now i would give anything for WAR to be run the same way

You mean the one person that registered today, has one post and has no identification of official Warhammer association on an unofficial forums?

...Like really? Trolled much?

If I make a new account here with that name and personally flame will you take that as the hand of god from Warhammer as well?

That's a good point. I wouldn't believe it for a second that the post was actually from her. Look how unprofessional it sounds; it just doesn't seem like something of a producer's caliber. And if for some god awful reason that really is her, then what the $&%@ is going on with quality employment these days?

It wasn't on any official forum, it was on a pure fan forum.

Granted if it IS her she shouldn't have replied. But however the case is that people in the gaming industry should be free to say whatever they want on forums NOT related to there official game forums.

Spending two seconds on her blog and twitter already tells me two things, one she is the type of person to use capitalization her user names (that are her own name! - who doesn't capitalize their own name?) and two she doesn't type like that (she comes off as extremely professional in her official postings). Not even going into the fact that even posting like that on a fan forum can get you in trouble in the this industry and you'd never do it in a way to track back to your actual name or company moniker.

poor attempt at trolling is poor.

Theres been some mumbling in the corners about a DAOC 2, so I wouldn't write off the good things in DAOC yet. Only played the trial myself, ages ago. The account kept running on my mothers credit card for a full year without my knowledge though.

But what's with the witch-hunt Barney? Any particular reason you cant just let WAR be, its getting pretty bad if you gotta pull out obvious troll posts as evidence of its failure.

Edit: Surprised you found that troll post before you found the new producer letter they put out last friday. http://herald.warhammeronline.com/warhe ... ar?id=1487

Yes theres a good chance it isnt here but point is i really wouldn't be suprised if it was, all WARs heard from that producer is her twitter on how much xbox and WoW she plays, there wasnt even a producers letter in 3 months leaving most people wondering why she wasnt already fired. And i don't let it drop cos WAR could be the best fantasy pvp MMO on the market if run by say trion who listens, and id really hate to see WAR end up like neocron, not closed cos a few people still play it but unplayable for anybody but hackers.

Also if you actually read the responses and what the community has been going on about for months you'll know that letter made things worse, it has NOTHING people wanted except saying they mite not charge people $20 to chance from a dead server to one with people on it soon. The closest they got to the crippling problem destroying WAR was saying they were *concerned* about it. That letter if anything helped convince the people who were waiting for it to decide what to do that they should indeed play Rift despite it not being as pvp focused just because WAR has no future and from the looks of it rift does

What she does in her freetime is irellevant to her work, idve been surprised if she actually did play war after having worked on it for so long.

How much info she posts to the website is not indicative on how hard or how much she works on the game. For all we know she could be heading a team developing an unanounced expansion. She wouldnt be alowed to tell the community anything about her curent work and the fact that noone was filling in on the dev diary probably just slipped through the cracks.

What Solid Rock said x1000.
Also as I said in the other tread that Late October to January window is like what summer break is to teachers in this industry. Almost all games go dark during this time, once again it's not surprising.

I realize Barney; that you are coming from a place, where you really enjoy this game and feel powerless because your perception is that the game is being destroyed around your feet. Your posts though, regarding Warhammer are bordering on the ridiculous. Their so full of inaccurate information and your own angry biased opinion that they purely trolling at this point.

Not really, a lot of people feel the games going to hell because of the massive gear gap making all new players quit, and point still remains the new producers letter has next to nothing people wanted to fix the game and every patch recently has made a lot more people quit. Thats simple facts

Well, its simple hearsay. Since most publishers dont release active player counts there really no way to tell if more or less people have been leaving WAR recently. And then theres the whole vocal minority/silent majority thing which tends to slant perceptions of community opinion for MMO's.
