I really enjoyed HG:L, was a shame when it closed down.
Not saying its an NC/TR replacement or got enough content to fill that void, but it was a great laugh for a few days.

Re: Hellgate London - Ressurection.
Do they honor people who bought HG:L and honor those of us who bought lifetime subs (i.e. give us *something* in their stupid f2p world to compensate us)?
If no . . . I may just stick to the sp game on the rare time it is not to depressing to fire it up.

I doubt it. I must say it was amazingly populated today though, I rather enjoyed it.Vaeyn wrote:Do they honor people who bought HG:L and honor those of us who bought lifetime subs (i.e. give us *something* in their stupid f2p world to compensate us)?

I heard CBT finished tonight though ;(. So I hope it's released or another beta soon.
If you don't play because of your HG:L Lifetime then you're refusing to play a game for, because you paid for it

Re: Hellgate London - Ressurection.
Getting to be a trend, third parties resurrecting recently deceased MMO's. The same thing happened to APB, odd choice of games to pick for it though. Both games lasted less than 6 month's if I recall.

Yet HG:L was fairly loved by it's regulars.Solid Rock wrote:Getting to be a trend, third parties resurrecting recently deceased MMO's. The same thing happened to APB, odd choice of games to pick for it though. Both games lasted less than 6 month's if I recall.
It's subscription/business model did suck tough. However, it must have high anticipation because for all 3 days the beta severs where packed, more people then when the game first came out...

Re: Hellgate London - Ressurection.
APB also had a rather horrendous subscription model IIRC, something about paying by the minute.Pantho wrote:Yet HG:L was fairly loved by it's regulars.Solid Rock wrote:Getting to be a trend, third parties resurrecting recently deceased MMO's. Um, actually, no. I would be refusing to support a game and give money via micro transactions to the company that played a HUGE role in destroying HG:L.

Re: Hellgate London - Ressurection.
actually APB was pretty bamf, and if you played well & sold items for APB points instead of in-game cash, you could basically play for free. I had only played for about 2 weeks & already had enough points for a free month.
The problem was the crazily bad gfx-stuttering & sound-stuttering problem, which seemed to be also tied in with a big memory leak problem. =/ THAT and the "cops" had severely overpowered stun guns that were very accurate long range, and could even kill you in 2-3 shots..lol (long range one could also stun you for ~3-5 secs on hit, giving them enough time to sprint to you & arrest you before you do anything)
