Alright, like the title says, this is one fucked up crazy ass idea.
My spare Compaq 14" monitor was busted after the moving men did a piss poor job moving shit. So my 2 other systems have nothing to use as a display. So here's my crazy plan that may just work, I have 1 Geforce 2 MX200 with a S-Video out. 1 Philips DVP3050V DVD/VCR player with S-Video out. 1 Orion 9" TV w/DVD player. I was wondering if its possible hook up the GF2 to my DVD/VCR player which is hooked up to my TV. If this works I know it will only be in B&W. Mind you the 9" has no S-Video I can just plug into, that's why I'm thinking about it this way. That and I'm not buying anything else that may make it work easier. This is just to be a temporary solution till I can get another monitor from some second-hand store like Goodwill or something.
The real reason is I want to play Halo Multiplayer demo, fucking demo doesn't work with 256MB video cards...that and my slightly illegial copy is not playable online.
Crazy ass idea I need help with.

To use a vid-out from your computer's card the computer's display resolution usually needs to be set to a (pal or ntsc) resolution compatible with the TV. That means you need to hook a monitor up so you can boot the computer and change the resolution. If you had a monitor, you wouldn't need to be doing this, right? If you actually get this working and then remove the monitor and only use a TV, you probably wont be able to see anything on the TV until the operating system has loaded to the TV resolution screen (if there is any problem during boot up, you wont be able to see or do anything about it).
Why not buy a KVM switch (Keyboard Video Mouse)? I use one to run four computers with one keyboard monitor and mouse They are relatively inexpensive. Just make sure you get the right type (there are 2 types - one to use single k/v/m to control multiple computers, and one to display a single computer on multiple monitors) and the sales people in computer shops are often completely retarded and try to sell you "the one we use".

If laughter can be contagious, why do we never hear of any mirth pandemics?
