Yea you like that huh? That's the error given when Battlefield 1942 crashes on me while my Radeon 9800 is installed. Runs fine on my Geforce 2 MX200...if you consider 25fps at 800x600x32 fine. Radeon can't be overheating, got a fuckin big ass Zalman cooler on it keepin' it cool. But I wouldn't be suprised if the Radeon is dying since I broke a piece off and had to solder it back on. Although all the other games are workin fine with it, yes even Neocron 2 was. Except BF1942.
So tell me you fuckin' whores, is there a diagnostics program that test everything with my Radeon or can you tell by that error up top?
Yep reinstalled a couple of times while I had 2k Pro running. Then reinstalled a couple of times with XP Pro Corp SP2. Still crashed, although while using the 3.9 Cat drivers that came with the Radeon I saw it added a little more time before it crashed. Finally tried putting in my GF2 MX200. That works just fine except it hates anything above 800x600x32. Anything higher and it loads the maps like a fuckin' snail.
I get a steady frame rate of 100 FPS unless its a huge battle with tons of smoke and a LCAC (Desert Combat big ass boat) then it goes to ~90 FPS. That is before it crashes.
...you did say that a piece broke off.. did you not? it sounds extreme, but maybe something else was damaged when the piece broke off, regardless of how important or not that acutal broken piece was? if your geforce works just fine, but your newer one keeps giving you core dumps *way to go zhut!* perhaps it's because of faulty hardware? messed up memory on-board the video card?
where i'm going with this is this: much like windows used to dump and bluescreen, often times it was because of data corrupting on the harddrive... because the hard drive itself was dying, and couldnt hold its sectors anymore...
seems like if the geforce works just fine, it's either a driver problem or a hardware problem with the card... and seeing as how you just proved it wasnt a driver problem... *fears the worst*
good luck!
