I just wanted to learn another language, no particular reason. I also know a little spanish but thought I would broaden my horizons with German. And I am only just starting to learn, so I may not be able to read what everyone is saying. What does "ruckwerds" mean in english?

took german in school had a choice french or german german seemed easy so took it remember bits but not much i can say it better than write it :p

just fyi i got a grade E in english and a grade C gcse in german

Think its suposed to be: Du bist mein freund mabsy. Or better yet: Du bist meiner beste freundin mabsy. Although i couldve misunderstood what you where trying to say.

you are my friend mabsy would be du bist meine freundin, tho using it this way can imply sthing like you are my girlfriend (opposite sexstuff :p ) especially when you refer to the person that way when speaking to someone else,e.g. mabsy ist meine freundin/mabsy is my friend implies to someone that she is my girlfriend actually, whereas du bist meine beste freundin/ you are my best friend is ok.
du bist mein freund/you are my friend implies that the person adressed is male tho (one can say it ofc)
meiner btw is the male form of mine, e.g. that is my cat would be das ist meine katze (cat is female in german) while that is my dog would translate to das ist mein hund (dog is male) and the dog is mine would be der hund ist meiner. (the cat is mine would be die katze ist meine (female))for neutral things: the horse is mine /das pferd ist meins; that is my horse/das ist mein pferd
