The end of the Hacknet theme weeks have not been announced yet, so we are still having them.

I was bored enough at work this morning to read the NC forums. No Patch 126. Not a single update in the ThemeWeek Forums since December 20ish except the one above. There are still people unable to play because of C2P.

Nothing is changing.

They must have like one coder left, I swear.

I hate the way Reakktor has single-handedly sunk such a great game.

I'm sorry guys, but I don't miss Neocron one bit. The game itself is stale to me, the company's direction and administration is comprised of a bunch of god damn idiots who don't even have a grasp on the MMORP market, their own communities desires, or simple marketing strategies.

I'm happy playing RYL in my free time for FREE - and for the two weeks that I played nothing, I was perfectly fine. I do miss SXR tho Face of Mankind goes into Open Beta at the end of this month - hope to see some of you there! I'm on an MMORPG-for-Free kick atm since the MMORPG I really want to play doesn't exist and is only in my head who wants to form a dev team for a new Sci-Fi MMORPG?

Search Nidhogg's posts - about a month and a half ago he stated they 'plan' on having PayByCash setup 'next week' - not that I think Nid lies, because he's only a volunteer - but KK blatently *lies* to their community AND their volunteers - just because they choose to not divulge any info doesn't mean they're not lying. They let community rumor and myth spread rampant without any attempts to quell them.

I honestly think they have a staff of like 5 people. No *real* development team could be nearly as incompetent as they are.

FoMK probably will suck. Nothing about what I've read remotely excites me, but it will still be A) free and B) new to try. RYL is quite fun in the meantime. The North American release (i.e. I don't have 400 ping all the time) is fun. It's funny - games still in Beta like RYL do fun things for their game/community - there are "Santa Thief" mobs all over RYL since Christmas. They drop candy canes, Christmas presents, antlers you can wear, Santa suits you can wear, etc... it's actually really cool. What did Reakktor do? Put Christmas trees up. Big fucking deal. Games not making any money, still in Beta, are BETTER and MORE MINDFUL of their community than an already established one with a better playsystem. How funny is that.

FOMK doesn't look very good to me but like you said it will be free to try out.

Beta is almost always the best time of any game.

The devs aren't too worried about balance or the constant demands of the whiney community. But the moment it hits retail....

I mean look at NC, one of the smallest communitys out there and after just about every single event thrown by kk there would be a dozen whine threads.
Not to mention the "Nerf" threads....

When the ppl start paying $$ for the game, the makers of the games generally listen to the ppl a little bit too much imho.

Like NC, the most fun I had was right after the US release, when Hybrid Monks ruled the world, and capped tanks ran around ganking everyone they could because they actually got something for it.

KK listened to the community and nerfed the Monks for like 7 straight patches (granted they did need a nerf but not that much) and added in the belt drops.

*sigh* what NC could've been with a different company behind it.....

C2P stopped me playing and I can honestly say the only good thing about the game was the people in it, Comie, Weazle, Social and everyone else in SXR made the game fun byt creating something from nothing.

I played RYL by myself for a while and it was fun only 1% of the fun I had in the Maylasian beta with Coo, Satrin and all the other lads on Vent.

The most important quality a MMORPG can possess in people you know to play it with, this is why I'm excited about WoW, I have alot of friends from alot of clans and communitys who have already ordered this or are already playing the EU beta and US release.

I just cant see myself going back to Neocron.

Tonight I spent the evening dog fighting Japanese zeros over pearl harbour in my P40 and drinking Carlsberg due to my lack of DSL but when it comes back I'll play the RYL beta till WoWs release

I logged in on a friend's account to try out a GeForce FX 5200 I came across instead of my GeForce3 Ti500. Same memory leaks, even in DX9 on a DX9 card. Looks the same. There were two LEd people in Plaza 1. One was AFK. Pathetic. Two words.

I'm not trying to persuade anyone here to go to some other game. I'm just saying, purely from a Neocron-playing standpoint. Reakktor is *the* shittiest MMORPG developer. They don't have a staff equipped to deal with the game. They have nothing to say on their forums because they're making little to no progress.

Look at the number of players they lose to their C2P bullshit. Look at their lack of Item Tracking and NPC Playershops. Look at the lack of updates, even just .plan files or posts by the staff. Look at the content they're ACTUALLY working on... a samurai sword? That will most likely look like a double-edged sword in model... LOOK AT WHAT YOU ARE PAYING FOR...

Then ask yourself... is this game, this company, this overal software experience, is it worth the money that *I* work for? Come on. You guys go to work and look forward to what when you get online? Neocron? Fucked up hair bugs? Fatal Runtime Errors? Losing items to bugs? Running out of Free Memory? No. You look forward to SXR. To gaming with eachother. To Ventrilo.

Pack up, pick a new home, and move together! That's all that matters! I know there is no other MMORPG with the playstyle of NC. Sad, but true. But look around - I'm not playing anything atm but am really enjoying reading about other games and upcoming games on MMORPG.com. The unmentionable game, Face of Mankind goes into Open Beta at the end of the month. It's futuristic sci-fi. It looks like crap, but hey, it's FREE and worth trying. Stop giving KK the last few financial crumbs and let them die!

FN take a break dude .... and stick to it. I've taken month long breaks and come back. You've been playing this game constantly for 2 years so its not surprising you're getting bored of it.

I seriously enjoy the company of SXR more and its what keeps me playing. Plus that I'm levelling my APU/Hybrid at the moment that's got me back to why I liked the game: the dings of levelling up, finding out what I can use, caving with a whole bunch of unknowns.

I've only ever concentrated Weazle before and he's near capped. You've probably done a million characters though.

I also don't play Neocron all the time. I usually hop onto my favourite CS server before getting onto Neocron which ends up with anytime after 11pm is Neocron time for me.

This game has consumed so much and I try not to let it get to me.

But I do agree that KK needs better management, the investors should think about getting a new CEO and have MJS relegated to a technical lead or something. They also need more developers which is hard considering the complexity of the coding required for a game such as Neocron.

Oh I don't pay that much attention to what's down the road with MMORPGs as some are going to be cancelled and some are just fantasy based like DAoC & WoW. Of course I'll be paying close attention to Fallout Online if it starts development
