For those of us who live in the US I got my w-2's today. But low and behold I open it up and it is someone elses!! I work for the State of Tennessee and they are aware of the problem. Addressed to me but not my info. I just now got a phone call from the lady who has mine. She is bringing it to me. Isn't this something??

Wow that's horrible. You shouldn't have to pay if the government can't tell you how much you owe. I'm going to have to double check mine once it arrives.

Before you get yours back you should see which W2 would net you a better return and go with that one

It's a thing that tells you how much you made, and how much you paid in taxes. Then you get to fill out a bunch of forms to see if you paid enough or too much. If you paied too much they give you a refund (most single people) or if you didn't pay enough (married people with no kids) you gotta pay 'tha man'.

My roommate was all pissed off yesterday cause he went and had is taxes done only to find out he owes $400, and he has to pay $180 for havin his taxes done for him

hehe, checked my bank balance this morning, to my surprise, my refund was deposited yesterday.

We usually get a refund due to our mortgages. Married people get the shaft when it comes to taxes. It is a called a "marriage penalty".
Sat, if you worked last year, you will get one in the mail. But your parents will probably claim you and you might get a little refund. This makes my head hurt.
